La dulzura del sueño.
( last version )

Cuando el canto
de las luces
se dispersa en
la campaña siento
un módico sonido
que se expande
dulcemente
regalando la
tristeza a una
tímida ilusión:
reconozco la colina
de las mágicas
carreras, siento
entonces la emoción
y así, en un instante,
vuelvo al soplo
del pasado y a la
hermosa juventud...

Francesco Sinibaldi

La nuit silencieuse.
( third version )

Dans la nuit,
délicate comme
une feuille désolée,
j'écoute une chanson
qui revient dans
les bois pour donner
la lumière des instants
fugitifs: c'est le son
de la mort, le sourire
d'une étoile qui
m'appelle dans le noir
en créant l'harmonie
d'un silence éternel...

Francesco Sinibaldi

Just answering Robert Birch and his request for pupils in his year. I was in the same year. Micky Latkowski was a big mate of mine and so was Kevin Heslin and Chris Pollock. I was in A and am in contact with Fr Hugh Preston. Would be glad to be contacted by Rob to exchange info. ‘Rosy’ Mattock was also a friend.

Someday that cloud...
( third version )

A charmed little
birdie stops on
the hill observing
the forest and the
beautiful landscape:
sometimes, in my
fantasy, while a
fleeting belief
reappears in my
mind recalling the
youth and the
luminous splendour
of her pretty blue
eyes...

Someday that cloud...
( last version )

With wonder
and joy a charmed
little birdie stops
on the hill observing
the forest and the
beautiful landscape:
sometimes, in the
green fields, while a
fleeting image
reappears in my
mind recalling the
youth and the
luminous splendour
of her pretty blue
eyes...
