John Ward went to Hechtel, Belgium, to witness the celebration on 25th April 2010 for the Golden Jublilee of Fr Henri Alen's ordination to the priesthood. He was the guest of Alex and Martine Dockers.

Fr Alen is a former World Delegate for the Salesian Past Pupils. John Ward met him many times during his time as National President, at Eurobosco and World Congresses, and invited him to England at the end of his term of office.
