Watching Cricket for Charity!

18 First Class Grounds in 18 Days

Doug Robertson, retired Vice Principal of St Richards College Bexhill, plans to set a record by visiting the 18 first class English cricket grounds in 18 consecutive days!

In setting this record he aims to combine the two loves of his life - cricket and education - by gaining sponsorship for the tour to raise funds for needy Indian children through Project Sarah.

To date he has received great support from the cricket clubs, individuals, churches and businesses around the country including a free car from a local car showroom, free passes to the cricket grounds, offers of accommodation around the country and publicity from the media.

Doug, a past pupil of Farnborough and Shrigley, began his tour on 21st August. He is pictured below at the Salesian Provincial House, Stockport, where he stayed overnight on route from Old Trafford to Derby. With Doug (right) is his fellow parishioner, co-driver and 'minder', Kevin.
