Blaisdon Easter Reunion

A small but excellent gathering of Past Pupils met at Blaisdon on 3rd April 2005, the Sunday after Easter for the now traditional Easter mini-Reunion. Some, as usual, made a weekend of the visit. This started at the Salesian graves in the churchyard at St Michael's with prayers for the deceased members of the Blaisdon Salesian Family. As this coincided with the death of the late Pope John Paul II (RIP) Fr Sean was able to hand out our copies of a set of prayers with the picture of the late Pope on the front, and some of these were recited at the Salesian grave.

Thereafter Fr Aidan Murray celebrated Mass, with Father Sean concelebrating, in the Blaisdon Village Hall, joined by the Blaisdon parishioners and some from Newent, which is the joint Salesian Parish. Photo below. We all remembered the late Holy Father in our Mass.

Concelebrated Mass

A short convivial time was spent together with some refreshments provided by our stalwart President, Charles. A few photos are below. One of these is the recently refurbished bench to which new names are added - not just of those who have left us but also of some of us still living. A brass plate is made and screwed to the bench for those prepared to make a gift to the Association of £10.

Charles is working his heart out to make the next, our main Reunion, something special as the 70th anniversary of the opening of Blaisdon. We look forward to a great and large gathering for this 70th celebration.
