The England squad, which included six Battersea past pupils, earned the honour of representing their country by winning the FA's National League System Cup Final on 2nd May 2008. (See the account of that match.)

In the 3 matches in Turin England beat Scotland 3-0 and drew 0-0 with both Ireland and Italy. Although England, Italy and Ireland all finished on 5 points, Ireland were declared the winners on goal difference having scored more goals in beating the Scots.
