Comments: I was a pupil at Cowley from 1946 until 1953. I have a lot of old memorabilia such as school reports, sports day programs etc. I also have a lot of school annual photos. My friends were Michael Bonfiel and Ken Trotman. I am now 77 so will all my old school chums still be around.

Comments: I was at Salesian College, Cowley from 1959 to 1966. In fact there were 6 Byrnes at Cowley at the same time for 1 year. 3 brothers from my family and another 3 Byrne brothers from another family. Also recently I discovered that some of my cousins (McSweeney's) went to Battersea or Chertsey. I enjoyed my time at Cowley and would like to meet up with some past pupils (in Oxford, if possible)to chat about the past. I only recently retired from working abroad for a long time and so missed the most recent reunions.
Admin reply: Dear Colm,
Thank you for your message in our National Guestbook. I do hope you make some contacts with former friends. Best wishes,John

A new, two-part documentary that charts the evolution of state care for children whose parents could no longer cope. The early picture is bleak, Dickensian and heartbreaking – it took the death of Dennis O’Neill at the hands of his foster parents in 1945 to shock the government into action. Dennis’s brother, Terry, gives a horrifying first-hand account of the crime. "Some One To Love Us"

Comments: Dear Readers,
Our former National President, Patrick Morrissey, and his family have received the dreadful news that one on his grandchildren, Flynn, died in a car accident today. May I ask for your thoughts and kind prayers for the deceased, and for the families that must be in a true shock at this very sad time?
Details below:
Flynn, aged 11, a much-loved grandchild and one of Dominic's sons, died in a motor accident near Manchester this morning . A Porsche hit his mother's car head-on on their way to school. She and another son in the car were taken to hospital and we await news on them, but they are not thought to have serious injuries.

Comments: Hi, i can't remember whether i've already posted on this! Old age creeping on? Anyway i was there until 1958 but remember certain parts as if it were yesterday, such were the characters.
I'm actually still working, currently in Abu Dhabi.
Love to hear from anyone who remembers me or anyone else for that matter.
Admin reply: Dear Jeremy,
