Salesian Past Pupils UK Guestbook

Comments:
Only today I discovered this Salesian website, so I simply wanted to add my name here and say a fond Hello and send best wishes from Oxford UK to all Salesians for 2013, and especially to any old boys of Cowley who may be reading this. After A-Levels I worked at Oxford University's Department for Organic Chemistry for about two years, then moved to the University's Delegacy of Local Examinations for about 30 years ending up as its Subject Officer for GCSE Religious Studies. Now I'm on the eve of my retirement, presently age 64, I've started to revisit my youth hence obeying the maxim that old men are twice boys! Sadly, Salesian College Cowley closed in 1970 but I often wonder what became of our large statue, located in the centre of our school quad, of Dominic Savio. Anyone know? Best wishes to all - Paul.

Admin reply: Dear Paul,

Thanks for your message in our National Website Guestbook. Thanks also for your brief history. I trust that you will receive some contacts. We recently sadly said our good byes to Richard Blake (RIP), who did so much to resurrect the Cowley Association. Best wishes,

John

Dear Friedns,

I am just back from visiting Richard in the Thames Valley Hospice. He had been back in Hospital but now transferred to the Hospice.

I only spent about 6 minutes there, as Richard cannot speak with a large Oxygen mask on. He cannot breath for himself now, and is not taking food. fear he is nearing his end.

Please pray earnestly for Richard and his family at the most stressful time.

Many thanks and God Bless,

John

Thnk you for your message in our Guestbook. You do not need a Password, you simply create your replies by adding a new message in the Guestbook addressing, by name, whoever it is you would like to reach. This might have the effect to get something running.

Good luck, John Ward, National Vice President.
