Salesian Past Pupils UK Guestbook

Comments:
Dear Readers,

We have just learned of the death of a Thornleih Old Boy, Jack Halliwell. See below:

"Dear Fr. Pat,

I have just heard that a Jack Halliwell has died and his funeral is at Sacred Heart Church, Westhoughton on Monday 29th November at 11.15am.

He was in my year at Thornleigh starting in 1952. He was great at football being on Leeds United books, for a period then in the Civil Service.

Please pray for him and his family.

Thanks, Paul"

If you know of Jack and can spread the news to others of his years at Thornleigh, please do spread the word. Many thanks. "May He Rest in Peace".

John Ward, National Vice President

Hello all old Battersea Salesians of"54".
I was at the 50th anniversary a few years ago and had some contact with past pupils for a while after.

Because of sickness and less travelling I have lost contact.
I do`nt know where or how but i have also lost all my contact info-mail addresses and suchlike.

My memory for names is hopeless which makes it worse.

It would be nice if anyone remembering me from the reunion or otherwise would like to take contact.

Admin reply: Dear John,

Thanks for your message in our National Website. I hope you succeed in your request. Meantime, I will draw Nicholas Potter's attention to your message. Nick is Battersea Association President.

Best wishes, John Ward, National Vice President

Hi,

A little bit of inquiry if you know somebody doing business in Vietnam that I could do business. I am currently working in Vietnam. Also, any bosconians that may need help in Vietnam as well, please recommend.

Yours in Don Bosco,
Ronald
Ardua Non Timeo

Admin reply: Dear Ronald,

What is your connection with the Salesians? Did you go to a Salesian school?

I am in my 80th year so unlikely to get any business contacts at my age. What is the line of business in which you are working?

I await your reply with interest. Best wishes, John Ward. National Vice President.

I was at Shrigley from 1972 till 1977 and would be interested to hear from any of my class mates. I don't remember a lot of names, unfortunately, but I was in the same year as John Prior and Ted Rusinek. I remember Paul, who played classical guitar (Very well) and Peter who was a great runner. Also Joe Glackin who went on to be ordaned. I was in Fisher House. Any memories and details would be great to hear,

Gerry Durkin

Admin reply: Dear Gerry,

Thanks for your message in our National Federation Website Guestbook. I do hope that ou will receive contacts from some of your former Shrigley friends.

Best wishes, John Ward, National Federation Vice Pesident :D
